Business.

We help businesses better understand the carbon market and their options for offsetting their carbon footprint. Awareness of the nuances of carbon offsetting and the market in general will give businesses the most value from their offsets. We can help them navigate the sometimes confusing carbon credits space and explain the pros and cons of the various options available.

Agriculture.

Carbon West informs landholders on the opportunities available to them in the fast-developing carbon market. We work in partnership with the landholders agronomists to plan the eligible agricultural management practices most likely to draw down carbon from the atmosphere.
We believe the benefits of improving soil health will pay dividends in increased production, drought resilience and reduced input costs. Carbon credit income could simply be the icing on the cake.

Revegetation.

Carbon West consultants have successfully registered a range of ACCU Scheme revegetation projects. Where landholders see value in revegetation programs across their properties, we can advise on the carbon options available and assist in their registration and management. Turning unproductive land into an income-generating asset holds considerable appeal to many. Our fee-for-service offering keeps such projects simple without adding the considerable administrative burden of a carbon project to an already busy farming schedule.

    “When we bought Tallering Views, which is 32 kilometres north of Mullewa and on the edge of WA station country, the land was in pretty bad shape.  It’d been cleared and used for grazing and cropping for years so the place had become very dry, the vegetation was disappearing and water was running straight off. We didn’t understand how fragile the land was and ran 400 goats on it. This degraded it even further making it no good for the goats, sheep or cattle we wanted to run, forcing us to reduce stock numbers to a minimum. 

    So we started land rehabilitation work and experimenting with water infiltration stuff, and were seeing some good results. Then in 2021 we contacted Carbon West to set up a carbon project. Jennifer & her crew have made the project come together by completing base line measurement of our soil carbon and doing all the paperwork … which we try to avoid!    They’ve helped us meet all the requirements of the Clean Energy Regulator, recorded all our management changes and emissions, and kept us up with any new developments in the carbon world along the way.
